Lower humidity levels can enhance scent diffusion because molecules move more freely in drier air. When the air is less saturated with moisture, there's less interference for scent molecules to travel through, allowing them to spread more easily and efficiently, meaning that scents can travel farther and linger longer in the air.  Also, lower humidity levels can make it easier for us to detect smells because there is less water vapor in the air. Conversely, high humidity can cause scents to dissipate more quickly. It can also dull or distort scents.
